The following list briefly describes schools in the
UK which offer the American curriculum. Further information
can be obtained from the schools themselves or from
the European Council
of International Schools (ECIS) International Schools
Directory, published by John Catt Educational
Ltd. The directory provides a list of all ECIS member
international schools worldwide. Copies may be purchased
from ECIS, 13 Lavant Street, Petersfield, Hants GU32
3EL. A copy of the text is also held for reference
in the FTC London resource library. An asterisk (*) indicates
that the school is an ECIS member.
There is no specific type of accreditation for primary
and secondary schools that will ensure recognition
by institutions of higher education. All prospective
students and their parents are encouraged to consider
higher education placement statistics and recommendations
of students (and their parents) that have attended
the school and gone on to higher education when choosing
a private primary or secondary school outside the
US.
